According to the latest reports, President Akufo-Addo's Aide De Camp Col. Amponsah is alive and in stable condition after fainting in parliament on Friday. This occurred while the outgoing president was giving his final state of the union address.

Following the event, medics at the parliament building treated the Aide promptly. After getting first assistance, he was transferred to Accra's 37 Military Hospital, where physicians determined he was not in danger.

According to reliable military sources, Col. Amponsah has already been discharged and is resting at home. The Friday event sparked widespread concern as people worried for his safety. The physicians' announcement, however, is a huge relief.

During the event, Akufo-Addo's talk was interrupted for a few minutes while medics attended to his aide. After they were finished, he gave his address. Col. Amponsah has been a key member of the president's security team since his promotion in 2021. Before becoming the president's aide de camp, he worked as an instructor at the Ghana Armed Forces Military Training Academy.
