According to a story on TV3 GH today, residents of Madina in the La Nkwantanang-Madina Constituency were shocked when a police officer was detained for threatening to shoot his wife over an alleged affair.

The officer, Inspector Daniel Agyemang, is claimed to have confronted his wife, Madam Patricia Owusu, on Wednesday night after discovering she was in love with another guy.

According to witnesses, a violent disagreement broke out in their home, prompting the officer to draw his service handgun.

"He yelled at her, demanding why she was cheating on him. A neighbor who watched the incident stated, "The next thing we saw, he pulled out his gun and pointed it at her."

Madam Owusu fled from the house, begging for help, terrified for her life. Residents were quick to intercede and summon the police, who came just in time to avoid a disaster.

DSP Samuel Boateng, the Madina Divisional Police Commander, confirmed the arrest in a statement to the media.

"Inspector Agyemang has been arrested, and investigations are still proceeding. We take such situations extremely seriously, particularly when they involve a law enforcement personnel," he stated.

"I lost control." "I felt betrayed after everything I've done for her," he reportedly told investigators.

The victim, Madam Owusu, stated her fear for her life and demanded justice.

"I have been living in fear. "I don't know what would have happened to me if the police hadn't arrived on time," she claimed, crying.

Neighbors said the couple had been having marital issues for months.

"They used to be a happy marriage, but lately they've been fighting. "We never expected things to get this serious," a close family friend said.

Inspector Agyemang has been suspended by the Ghana Police Service pending further investigation.

"Officers are expected to protect lives, not endanger them. If found guilty, he would face the full wrath of the law," said DSP Boateng.

Meanwhile, Madam Owusu has been kept under police protection as officials conduct their inquiry.
