Musah Superior, a prominent member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed regret for the significant loss the ruling party had in the general elections held on December 7, 2024.

In his piece, he described the factors that contributed to the loss, noting that NPP supporters in particular and Ghanaians in general punished flagbearer and vice president Mahamudu Bawumia for President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's "sins."

The following is the complete article written by the former Tamale Metropolitan Chief Executive:

In the recently finished national elections, the NPP suffered a humiliating defeat.

This dreadfully devastating loss serves as a REFERENDUM on President Akufo-Addo, his management style, and the effectiveness of his administration.

NADAA is shamelessly nepotistic, which hurts both his government and our Party.

Our loss must be fully attributed to NADAA.

DMB is a wonderful man. He endured punishment for the "sins" of NADAA despite his best efforts and a lot of hard work during the campaign.

Why was the E-levy imposed after DMB officially condemned it?

When it was obvious that KOA was a complete liability to the government, why did he continue to serve as Finance Minister?

Why didn't NADAA pay attention to the more than 90 MPs who expressed concerns about KOA's declining ability to perform his job and called for his dismissal?

When the majority of Ghanaians, including many NPP members, asked that the President reorganize his weary cabinet, wasn't it disgustingly ironic that he refused? And only made a small reorganization when it was no longer relevant?

Why was the cathedral the subject of this absurdity?

Why was a successful initiative like NABCO canceled by the government?

Why did water and energy rates increase a few months before the elections?

We lost as a result of these and numerous other preventable errors.

Look, NADAA didn't care, which is why we lost this election. We made some crucial mistakes, which is why we lost. We lost because the party lost its gravity, became unresourceful, and was unable to inspire and motivate our base of followers.

Most individuals were harmed by the lame duck president's commissioning and cutting of sods for projects. I was also hurt. It was nonsensical! It displayed a desperate expression.

Let's take a break and reorganize our gathering. In order to mend the party, we need to have the guts to start an open discussion going ahead. If we truly consider this humiliation, create a recovery plan, and provide a solid foundation for our Party's rehabilitation, we will return with a bang.

I commend DMB for his bravery and tenacity. Throughout the campaign, he has shown more boldness and efficiency. DMB is unquestionably a wonderful example of dedication and intelligence. He continues to be a significant member of our party and nation.
