After the Electoral Commission (EC) stated that the special voting exercise for persons in the Eastern and Western regions would now take place on December 5, 2024, media personality Bridget Otoo voiced disappointment with the EC.
Bridget Otoo criticized the EC's handling of the incident in a post uploaded on X on November 2, 2024, and encouraged voters to use their annoyance to vote against the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
She demanded that the EC's leadership be replaced by a new Mahama administration.
"Wow, the Eastern and Western special votes have been moved to December 5! Jesus! Vote against this regime with all your rage! "The EC needs to be cleaned," she exclaimed.
She also used the occasion to accuse the NPP government of institutionalizing corruption in the nation.
"This government has undermined, reduced state institutions, and institutionalized corruption to the extent that shameless people are on this platform defending a corrupt and scandal-laden minister," she stated.
In the meantime, a significant number of emergency service workers, journalists, security officers, and representatives of the Electoral Commission (EC) are taking part in the extraordinary voting process in 14 of the country's 16 regions.
