Nana Yaa Jantuah, former General Secretary of the Convention People's Party (CPP), has fiercely criticized President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, calling his leadership a costly error for Ghana, according to Ghana Web on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Her comments, which highlighted growing public unhappiness, were made during a recent interview with TV3's New Day.

Jantuah criticized the sufferings Ghanaians had faced under Akufo-Addo's administration, noting present economic challenges.

She claimed that the president's reign had done more harm than good to the country, making life increasingly difficult for ordinary individuals.

According to her, Ghanaians made a big error in voting Akufo-Addo, which she believes has resulted in significant economic issues.

"The state of the nation is reflected in my pocket, your pocket, and everyone's pocket," she said, highlighting the financial difficulties that many individuals face.

She also chastised the president for supposedly declaring himself Ghana's best leader, which she thought ludicrous considering the country's severe problems.

She also mentioned that many Ghanaians couldn't afford basic necessities around Christmas, a season normally associated with joyous celebrations.

"During Christmas, we couldn't even afford to buy chicken" . She said.

Jantuah likened Akufo-Addo's leadership to "Nebuchadnezzar tendencies," accusing him of neglecting ground realities.
