The Head of Public Affairs of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), John Kapi, has confirmed the receipt of an additional GH¢35 million from the Ministry of Education.
This funding, released by the government through the Ministry of Education, will support WAEC’s operations and facilitate the continuation of the 2024 WASSCE marking.
Earlier, the government had released GH¢25 million to settle part of the GH¢118 million debt owed to WAEC.
According to Mr. Kapi, the funds will help WAEC expedite the process of releasing the results by the end of December.
“It is true that the Director of Finance and the Head of the National Office of WAEC have confirmed the receipt of a cheque for GH¢35 million from the Ministry of Education.
"We are working around the clock to ensure we release the results by the end of this month.”
