The Member of Parliament for Akim Abuakwa South, Samuel Atta Akyea, has labelled the controversial Agyapadie document as a 'piece of nonsense'.

The document alleges a grand plot instigated by some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party and prominent individuals from the Akyem area who are said to have been engaged in the exploitation of the country’s resources amidst concerns of state capture.

Reacting to the document, which has become a subject of national discussion in recent times, the Akim Abuakwa South lawmaker said that no sane person would believe the contents of the document.

However, many argue that the document provides some credibility given recent events under the ruling NPP.

"I am tempted to believe that the NDC has probably forged this document because no sane person would decide to put out a document that would disgrace ourselves [NPP]...It's a piece of nonsense that we shouldn't pay attention to," Atta Akyea opined during an interview with GhanaWeb at the NPP’s manifesto launch on August 18, 2024.

Meanwhile, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and other prominent individuals of the ruling NPP have spoken out against the contents of the controversial document.

They believe it is a sinister plot by some individuals to spread hate against the president and his achievements.
