The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has passionately urged the rank and file of the party to offer both spiritual and physical support to the party’s flagbearer as he steers the party through the tortuous path to the Flagstaff House in 2017.

According to him, there was nothing wrong to have natural disagreements with one another in such a big family such as the NPP, but cautioned all to respect the authority of the party’s chosen flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo.

Addressing a closed-door meeting of regional and constituency executives of the party in the Ashanti Region last Saturday at Georgia Hotel, Mr. Agyepong renewed his unalloyed allegiance to the flagbearer and called on party members to follow suit.

He disclosed that as a father, Nana Addo has since the infamous disagreements recently reached out to him in such a remarkable way.

According to Mr. Agyepong, the flagbearer has been open to him as they have daily discussed party issues regarding the forward march to the upcoming general elections in 2016.

He noted that the flagbearer has been calling him virtually every day making him feel sometimes embarrassed that he (Agyepong) should have rather been doing the calling.

In almost a tearful mood, the General Secretary urged party members to learn from the all-embracing flagbearer by forgiving each other if there are differences and emulate the leadership qualities of Nana Addo.

He urged them to be united as never before so as to enable them, with a united front, work to capture political power in 2016.
