A member of National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s legal team, Abraham Amaliba, has accused President Nana Akufo-Addo of supervising serious of nepotism in his government.
According to him, the country is being mismanaged because of over 45 close relatives of the president are serving in various positions in his government.
In his opinion, the current government is a “family that has come together to rule the country.”
“This country is being mismanaged, we need a quick fix. This is the most nepotistic government. We have counted about 45 of the president’s relations alone in government. The president’s daughter, the nephews, cousins; it is now like an amalgamation of the family that has come together to rule this country,” he said.
Amaliba called on President Akufo-Addo to give some of the money he earns to his daughter, instead of giving her a position that requires payment from the State.
Touching on Former President John Mahama’s decision to contest as NDC’s flagbearer, he said that the ex-president has unfinished business with the people of Ghana.
He disclosed that a second term of Mahama’s government will put a stop to the current nepotism in governance.
Amaliba explained that Mr. Mahama’s impressive track record as president would ensure his reelection.
According to him, the NDC’s campaign strategy for the 2020 elections would be to compare the four years of Mahama and President Akufo-Addo, adding that the works of Former President Mahama will speak for itself.
