Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide Kweku Baako Jnr has served notice that he and his protege, ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas are ready to squarely face supporters of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) who have launched a blistering attack at them.

A section of NPP supporters have accused the duo of waging an agenda to sabotage the Akufo Addo administration by collaborating with neocolonialists and ex-President John Mahama following the latest investigative piece was undertaken by the renowned undercover journalist and the BBC.

The documentary which took more than two years to produce centres on corruption in football in Ghana and actually captures the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi using the name of President Akufo Addo and other key government officials to extort monies from some potential investors.

President Akufo Addo reported Kwesi Nyantalyi to the CID after he had the opportunity of viewing the yet to be premiered film following which the CID has commenced investigations into the matter.

A section of the public believes that some officials at the Presidency are indeed corrupt and have been using their positions to make money.

But Abdul Malik Kweku Baako speaking on Peace FM said he’s shocked why members of the NPP will ever accuse him of working to bring down a government that he dedicated his energy and resources to bring to power.

“…The Anas expose is an agenda by neocolonialist and John Mahama to sabotage the Akufo Addo administration, I thought I should ignore all those issues but gradually I hear others saying it now that all this is a plot to destroy this government. Eii! a government that I campaigned and worked for in terms of the President? Anyway, I’m not NPP but I’m a loyalist if President Akufo Addo and I’m not ashamed to make that point, he’s my friend and I’ve known him for over 40 years and I trust him, but I’m not NPP. So the NPP people out there who are attacking me and attacking Anas are entitled to that, but they should not underestimate, me or Anas or two of us put together in terms of our capability to defend ourselves and to challenge anybody who says he’s a ‘blow man’. We are ready, willing, capable of standing the pressure and rolling the pressure backwards.”
