An eyewitness who was at the scene of the murder of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, the partner of ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has said the unknown assailants pointed the gun used in assassinating Ahmed at them.

According him, a man who was standing by and saw what was happening decided to raise alarm, but one of the gunmen pointed his gun at him threatening to shoot if he made any noise.

“After shooting Ahmed 3 times, a man who was standing by started screaming Hey! Hey!! And I asked what is going on quickly one of the killers pointed a gun at the man then we became quiet” he narrated to citinewsroom.

“They came for the motorbike and went away,” he added. The eyewitness stated it was after the gunmen had sped off that they gathered the courage to call the police.

He said the police arrived late to the crime scene because they complained of not having any vehicle at the time they called. Recounting the incident, the eyewitness said the assailants rode on a motorbike to where Ahmed usually hanged out with his friends on Wednesday afternoon.

Ahmed was earlier in the company of some friends including the eyewitness when he had an emergency call and he had to quickly move his car.

As soon as he moved the car, the gunmen who were apparently monitoring his moves crossed the car and fired the first gun at him at a junction.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale, upon reaching the junction, the eyewitness said, he slowed down and that was when the shot was fired. Out of desperation to save his life, the eyewitness said Ahmed drove backwards, losing control of the steering in the process, and as a result, crashed into a hairdressing salon across the road breaking its glass door.

“The gunmen then pursued him right into the salon and fired two more shots at him killing him instantly. We saw them around 3:15 pm in the area but we didn’t pay attention to them. They waited till it was late before they killed him,” he said.

Ahmed Husein-Suale worked closely with ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas. He was shot by unknown gunmen on a motorbike Wednesday night while in his car driving home.

He was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck. The body has since been conveyed to the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra.

Tiger Eye PI in a statement said, “We at Tiger Eye PI are terribly devastated by the dastardly act, but remain unshaken in our resolve to pursue nation-wreckers and make corruption a high-risk activity in the country.”

The killing of Ahmed comes months after his picture was brandished on TV by a Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong during the airing of his anti-Anas documentary ‘who watches the watchman’ and called on the public to attack him as he was ready to face the consequences.
