Bawumia, Hawa Koomson, others receive National Awards from Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has presented awards to several prominent individuals on Monday, December 30, 2024, in recognition of their exceptional services, hard work, sacrifices, and contributions to national development at the 2024 National Honours and Awards ceremony held in Accra.

Leading the list of award recipients is Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who was honoured with the 'Order of the Star of Ghana, Officer Award'.

Dr. Bawumia's running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, was also recognised for his public service with the 'Order of the Volta, Officer Award', a category largely dominated by MPs and government appointees.

The category also includes winners such as Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, Kweku Ofori Asiamah, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Kwasi Amoako-Atta, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, Mavis Hawa Koomson, Ambrose Dery, Dominic Nitiwul, and Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto.

Kwaw Ansah, Daddy Lumba, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, and Juliet Asante are also among those being honored in the Creative Arts category.
