Where are your ‘unprecedented’ roads – Akufo-Addo to Mahama

President Akufo-Addo President Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has thrown a jab at former President John Mahama, asking the latter to show him where his so called “unprecedented” roads in the Savannah Region are.

The president indicated that the numerous appeals for roads he receives from chiefs are an indication that the Mahama administration lied about their unprecedented roads.

President Akufo-Addo was responding to an appeal by the Chief of Kpembe, Kpembewura Banbagne Ndefeso, for the completion of the main Tamale-Salaga-Makango road.

According to the chief, the road has been a major problem of the people of East Gonja over two decades.

The president assured him the road will be completed before the end of this year.

“Your son told Ghanaians he has developed the road network across the country and when I said I didn’t see any, he said I was sleeping. But today you appealing for same roads to be constructed again so who is sleeping?” he quizzed.

He assured the chiefs and people of East Gonja municipality that his government will bring massive development to the area.

President Akufo-Addo, who is on a one-day tour of the Savannah Region, also cut sod for the construction of a 37-kilometer Bunjai-Fufulso road and inspected works on a GH¢10-million water project by Ghana Water Company Limited in Salaga.

He is expected to be in the Upper West Region on Tuesday to cut sod for the construction of the second phase of a solar power project at Kaleo.
