Bosome Freho Police commander shot by robbers in the Ashanti Region

The District police commander at Bosome Freho ASP Dennis Boateng Asiwa and some of his colleagues have been short by suspected robbers.

The police personnel were shot by the suspected robbers after a failed attempt to arrest them at Tufourkrom near Nsuta following the murder of one Moses Obodai.

On their way to Asiwa and on reaching the outskirt of Nsuta, the police found the road blocked and suddenly a group of young men started firing guns indiscriminately at them.

The victims included ASP Dennis Boateng who sustained gunshot wounds on the neck, Corporal Samuel Achina, CPAs Emmanuel Agyemang, Samuel Antwi and Kennedy Obeng driver of the Assembly vehicle sustained various degrees of gunshot wounds.

They were rushed to the New Edubiase Government hospital where ASP Dennis Boateng was referred to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital in Kumasi.

However, the other victims were treated and discharged.

A suspect Marcus Annan, 20, was arrested at the scene in possession of one single barrel gun with 3 AAA cartridges while Emmanuel Sekyere, 27, and Emmanuel Appiah 17years were also arrested on while bolting.
