Former Ghana defender Samuel Osei Kuffour has expressed his agreement with the reappointment of Otto Addo as Black Stars head coach.

Otto Addo in 2022 helped Ghana to qualify for the Qatar FIFA World Cup by overcoming the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the playoff.

The Germany-trained tactician subsequently took Ghana to the World Cup where the Black Stars won one game, lost twice, and exited at the end of the group stage.

Coach Otto Addo did all this as a stop-gap coach.

This year, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has reappointed Otto Addo as the full-time Black Stars head coach.

According to Samuel Osei Kuffour, the appointment is spot on.

“Bringing him back was a good choice,” the former Bayern Munich defender indicated in an interview with Angel FM.

He continued, “Forget about whatever happened at the World Cup and focus on what we are doing now, especially in the World Cup qualifiers.”

Early this month, Otto Addo led the Ghana national team to beat Mali 2-1 before a 4-3 victory over Central African Republic.

The two victories have boosted Ghana’s chances of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
