Charge NDC gurus who accompanied Opuni to court for conspiracy - NPP

An aspiring Brong Ahafo Regional Youth Organiser of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwain Isaac is advocating that top guns of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who stormed an Accra High Court 11 to solidarize with embattled former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of COCOBOD be charged for conspiracy.

Former Chief of Staff; Mr Julius Debrah, former Attorney- General; Mrs Marietta Brew Appiah-Opong, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia aka General Mosquito; General Secretary of NDC, Mr Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah; former Petroleum Minister, Mr Kojo Bonsu; former KMA boss, former Deputy Information Minister; Mr Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, former Deputy Minister of Transport; Ms Joyce Bawa Mogtari and former Fisheries Minister; Ms Sherry Ayittey were all in court yesterday to show support to Dr Stephen Kwabena Opuni.

Others were the former Minister of Tourism; Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, National Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC); Mr Kofi Adams among other officials.

But Mr Isaac Kwain said he is not surprised a number of NDC gurus and party faithful stormed the Accra High Court 11 to show solidarity to Dr Stephen Kwabena Opuni who has been accused of wilfully causing financial loss to the state and also allegedly receiving a bribe of GHS25,000.

Speaking to MyNewsGh.com the vibrant aspiring Youth Organiser said,” my brother are you surprise about this, it's normal for even a thief to show solidarity to his colleague or use all means possible to free his/her fellow thief even if it will cost them their lives”

He continued by making reference to the recent rampage that happened at Dome Kwabenya police station where some alleged armed robbers went to free their colleagues from police cells thereby killing a police officer in the process.

"If you remember when NPP lost power in 2008 there were several of our big men who were arraigned before court, did you see anybody busing people to the court or party gurus going there to show solidarity? Not long ago armed robbers were in cells and we heard their colleagues armed robbers taking the risk to free them from cells so if today Dr. Opuni is in court for allegedly causing financial loss to the state and we have top NDC guns and party faithful going there to support him then it means they are conspirators”

Kwain Isaac also cautioned the security service to beef up security around the court premises each time the case is to be heard.

“I will only caution the security services to be extra vigilant and beef up security anytime the Dr. Opuni goes to court so that nothing untoward happens.
