Director of Communication for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, has asked the leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to employ the same energy it is using to tell lies about the EC’s new voter register to govern when it is in power.
The NDC National Chairman accused the NPP of conspiring to rig the 2020 general elections with the help of the Electoral Commission (EC) and the National Identification Authority (NIA).
The NDC cited the EC’s persistence in compiling a new voters’ register using NIA cards and passports as the only identification documents to enable people register to vote as a strategy to exclude especially members of the NDC supporters in favour of the NPP from taking part in the exercise.
In an interview with Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah, said the NDC is only good in putting all resources into peddling lies against the NPP.
He said the plan of the NDC is nothing more than to fabricate grounds for chaos, disunity and fear since they do not have a good candidate and a good story to tell voters in December in order to capture the seat from the NPP.
Yaw Buabeng Asamoah said the NPP will win the 2020 elections based purely on what the party is delivering to protect and improve the lives of the people in every corner of the country and not by the benevolence of the Electoral Commission as being alleged by the NDC.
Asked if the NPP communication team has observed that people still doubt the existence of the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana, Yaw Buabeng Asamoah attributed the development to the good measures and policies the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has put in place to fight the pandemic.
