Former Minister for Youth and Sports Nii Lantey Vanderpuye has commended President Nana Addo for dissolving the Ghana Football Association following the Tiger Eye Pi documentary which revealed a high level of corruption in the football fraternity of the country.

According to Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, although the decision would temporarily affect our football, he believes it would help in bringing sanity and reforms in our football, just as it happened in Nigeria and Italy.

In an interview with Esther Abankwa on Angel TV's "On the Turf" sports show, Nii Lantey made some recommendations to the government which will help in managing football in the country for the time being and it included the following:

That government sets up an immediate interim body to administer football. The body should consist of knowledgeable persons which include football administrators, retired footballers, retired referees, veteran sports journalists, clubs representatives among others.

Nii Lantey Vanderpuye further called for among other things early elections which should be somewhere between November - December, without waiting until 2019.

However, the Executive Committee of Ghana Football Association has instituted a strong five-man delegation to restructure the administrative wings of the FA after the "Number 12" video which has capture some members of the FA.

The committee has been tasked to redesign the administration of football in the country in the aftermath of the Anas documentary aired at the Accra International Conference Centre.
