The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has said that Ghanaians have a choice between the past and the present.

To him, Ghanaians have a choice between going forward in the right direction towards growth.

He indicated that he has given a good account of himself, as he is acknowledged as the most hardworking Vice President in Ghana's history.

"John Mahama has been president and did not give a good account of himself. He failed as president and should not be given another opportunity at the presidency. I have only been a Vice President, and it has been clear that I am the most hard-working Vice President Ghana has had."

"I represent the future the people of Ghana need. I intend to build on the achievements we have chalked up since we came to power. As the head of the economic management team, I can say without doubt that we have performed better than the NDC with the economy," he said.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is in the Ashanti Region to unveil Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the party's running mate.
