Eugene Arhin dismisses Kow Essuman's signed letter on presidential pardon for Ato Essien and others

The Office of the President has categorically dismissed reports circulating in sections of the media claiming that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has granted presidential pardons to certain individuals.

This follows the circulation of an initial letter signed by Kow Essuman, Legal Counsel to the President, which allegedly indicated the granting of the said presidential pardons.

In an official statement issued on Monday, January 6, 2025, the Communications Director at Jubilee House, Eugene Arhin clarified that no such pardons have been granted by the President.

He described the reports as inaccurate, and the public urged to disregard the reports.

"The attention of the Office of the President has been drawn to reports circulating in sections of the media suggesting that the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has granted a presidential pardon to certain individuals.

"We wish to categorically state that these assertions are inaccurate, and no pardon has been granted by President Akufo-Addo", it noted.
