One person is deceased, and seven others are severely injured following a fatal crash on the Somanya road in the Eastern Region.
The accident occurred around 5:00 pm on Tuesday at the Akorley community near Somanya.
A Hyundai H100, with the registration number GG 4311-15, somersaulted multiple times after hitting a pothole and bursting a tire.
The vehicle ultimately landed in a nearby stream, killing one person instantly and leaving seven others fighting for their lives.
The injured victims are currently receiving treatment at the Yilo Krobo District Hospital, while the body of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue.
This incident marks the fourth fatal crash in the Somanya area within the last two months, a period marked by multiple accidents that have claimed several lives, including two female teachers from Yilo Krobo Senior High School.
Ghana recorded a total of 4,503 road crashes in the first quarter of this year, resulting in 829 deaths and 4,955 injuries.
