The timely intervention by personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) averted disaster on the Tema Motorway after a cargo truck caught fire.
The truck was reportedly carrying raw rubber materials when it caught fire near the Tema Community 18 junction.
A video posted on the Facebook page of the Ghana National Fire Service captured the cargo truck partially burnt and the fire brought under control.
Fire personnel at the scene were also seen directing traffic to prevent serious congestion.
Road users have been advised to drive carefully when using the motorway.
“Fire at Motorway, Tema Community 18 Junction Involving a Cargo Truck Carrying Rubber Raw Materials...Fire currently Under Control. Road USERS should Excercise Discretion when using the motorway,” it said in the statement.
