Former Ellembelle NDC Women's Organiser fires Akufo-Addo

Former Women's Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ellembelle Constituency of Western Region, Madam Barikisu Alhassan has descended heavily on Akufo-Addo-led government.

She described the Akufo-Addo-led government as a failure and asked Ghanaians to vote against the government in upcoming general elections on December 7, 2020.

She made the above utterances in an interview when she assessed the Akufo-Addo-led government at Aiyinasi.

She said the then flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised to create jobs for Ghanaians, but it turned out that Nana Addo has rather collapsed businesses in the country.

She lamented over the bad nature of Nkroful road linking the birthplace of the first President of Ghana, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

On the issue of One District One Factory, the outspoken women's organiser said President Akufo-Addo lied to Ghanaians that he had constructed a factory in Ellembelle which has created jobs for over 2,000 people.

She, therefore challenged President Akufo-Addo to come to Ellembelle District with journalists to show them where the factory has been situated.

She, therefore, seized the opportunity to urge the Electoral Commission not to waste the tax payers money to compile new voters' register for the upcoming general elections but rather use the current one which was used to elect President Akufo-Addo in 2016 and subsequently the new Assembly Members in 2019.

Madam Barikisu Alhassan was optimistic that Ghanaians would bring back former President John Dramani Mahama to save Ghanaians from hardship the Akufo-Addo-led government has brought to bear.

Commenting on the collapsed of banks and microfinance companies in the country, she said it has affected the whole country and when it comes to Ellembelle, it had resulted in stealing.

"Today when you come to Ellembelle, we can't sleep, thieves are stealing us. Again, those who were working in those banks and now at home, have become truck pushers, Okada drivers and other stuff, we need John Mahama back to save us and I wish we all Ghanaians will go and vote remove President Akufo-Addo from office before December 7 because he cannot manage the country well", she fired.

She emphasized that the Free SHS programme which has become the flagship policy of government can't give President Akufo-Addo a second term.

She said the Free SHS programme was not totally free, adding that Ghanaian parents were using millions of cedis to buy items for their children before they go to school.

In this regard, she said Ghanaian parents now spend more than they used to when the old system was in place and the secondary school education was not free.
