Ghana’s investigation regime extremely poor – Security Analyst

Security Analyst, Sani Adib Security Analyst, Sani Adib

A Security Analyst, Sani Adib has said Ghana has a terrible system of investigation, one that makes probing into serious matters very difficult for the security agencies.

According to him, Ghana cannot boast of a DNA data base that could be used to solve crimes such as pertains in advanced countries.

“To date in America they use DNA data base to solve crime, murders that were committed in the 1920s including the golden state killer who was raping and assaulting women in the 1970s. They use technology known as genealogy where when one commits a crime the DNA of his or her relative could be used to identify the culprit. Even our finger print data base used by the Police Service is not effective because I’ve been a victim of home invasion before the police doesn’t know how to even harvest finger prints. They themselves contaminate crime scenes because they start touching evidence with their bare hands when they visit crime scenes. Because of the nature of our investigations a lot of people get away with crime. “ Sani Adib told host Kwaku Owusu Agyei on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa FM Friday.

He was commenting on the killing of Ahmed Hussein, a member of the renowned Tiger Eye PI Investigative firm headed by ace undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.

Ahmed Hussein was shot three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck by gunmen on motorbike in Madina, Accra while driving home on Wednesday night.

The Homicide Unit of the Police Service has commenced investigations to unravel circumstances leading to the murder.

Some eye witnesses say that they saw the unidentified assailants lurking around the neighborhood on a motorbike hours before he was killed.

Anas Aremeyaw Anas told the BBC that there were threats on the life of Ahmed Hussein Suale following the broadcast of the #12 documentary that exposed deep seated corruption in Ghana football.
