The former Central Regional Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Allotey Jacobs has taken a swipe on leaders of the National Democratic Congress over their allegation on Akufo-Addo’s family and friend’s government.

According to him, the NDC should go to the grounds and work for the victory of the party rather than concentrating on unnecessary propaganda which will not bring the party to power.

“I will advise the party leaders to go to the grounds and work. I believe the party has research department, they should conduct their research in the 2016 election and find out whether NPP’s comment on Mahama of running family and friend’s government was a major contributing factor to the victory of the NPP. He told Accra based radio Okay FM monitored by Ghanacrusader.com.

The NDC at a press conference on Tuesday, led by their National Communications Officer, Sammy Gyamfi listed 51 names he said pointed to “classic and unprecedented” nepotism within the Akufo-Addo government.

But reacting to the issue, the former chairman said, the allegation made by the NDC are baseless and unsubstantiated.

He pointed out that, even in the bible, there is nepotism.

“When we talk about nepotism it is in the bible. David was surrounded by his nephews and brothers as well as Mosses. There is nobody in this country whose party comes to power, he/she will not support a family member when he needs job.” He said.
