Gov't slams Christian council over ‘confidence lost’ charge

Government has lashed out at the Christian Council over its claim that Ghanaians are losing confidence in President John Mahama and the economy.

According to the Council, many Ghanaians are fast losing confidence in the Mahama administration because of numerous unfulfilled promises.

The Council also cited frequent demonstrations, labour unrest and media reports about suicide as indications that government is reneging on its promises.

But a member of the Government Communication Team and MP for North Dayi, George Loh, disagrees.

Speaking to STARR NEWS, Loh described as “unfortunate and surprising” the assertions of the council.

“What are the statistics? What has the Christian council done? Have they conducted a poll to be able to tell us that in the beginning, the President had this percentage of Ghanaians reposing confidence in him and that as of the time they issued the statement the number had dipped?” Loh asked.

He added that the issues cited by the Christian council have existed during previous regimes and therefore finds it a bit “worrying” for the council to rate the President on such issues.
