Rev Isaac Owusu Bempah’s church at Odorkor, Accra was flooded by heavily armed police officers deployed from both the Odorkor Police Station and the Accra Regional Police Command after some young men vandalized his church on Wednesday, 2 January 2019 to protest against his prophecy that National Chief Imam, Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu will die this year.

The New Year’s Eve prophecy got some Muslim youth angry and they stormed the pastor’s Glorious Word and Power Ministry International church at Odorkor and vandalized the worship centre.

It has become a tradition for some pastors in Ghana to always make doomsday prophecies every New Year’s Eve.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Nuhu Sharabutu has appealed to all Muslims in Ghana to forgive Rev Owusu Bempah.

In a short video message, the Chief Imam said Muslims have always lived in peace with Christians and continue to do so, therefore, that relationship should not be compromised.

He said no man knows the time or day that death will strike anybody, adding that death was inevitable for every human being, thus, there was no need attacking Rev Owusu Bempah.

He urged Muslims not to do anything to divide the nation.

"Please leave him and forgive him, I am begging you", he pleaded.

Apart from the Chief Imam, Rev Owusu Bempah prophesied that Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as well as former presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and John Mahama, will also die this year.
