Help fix deplorable Akuasi road – Sanahene tells government

The newly installed Sanahene of Akuasi in the Birim North District, Nana Kofi Sarpong Kumankuma I, has appealed to government to come to their aid as a matter of urgency and reconstruct their deplorable road.

The Nkawkaw – Abirem road has been in a bad condition for some years now.

It has made travelling very difficult for those living around those areas.

Both commercial and private car drivers, as well as passengers who use the road frequently, have been complaining bitterly about the deplorable nature of the road.

Nana Kofi Sarpong who was installed Sanahene of Akuasi a couple of weeks ago is pleading with authorities, particularly the President to pay immediate attention to the road.

“Life is difficult with some of us who use the Nkawkaw – Abirem road. In fact, the bad state of the road has affected everything including business and commercial activities.”

“Abirem is a mining area which produces gold to the country. So we the people living round here deserve Shanahanuadr.

“We can’t continue to risk our lives on this deplorable road. We can’t continue to spend all our money to fix the fault on our cars develop after using the road. We want the government to rescue us”.

He made the appeal at a press conference today (Tuesday).

Nana Kofi Sarpong also promised to do his best as Sanahene and create employment to help raise the standard of living of the youth of Akuasi together with his Chiefs and elders in the area.
