Over 200 aggrieved Menzgold customers made their way into the private residence of Nana Appiah Mensah, CEO of the embattled gold dealership, to demand their locked-up cash Wednesday morning.

The customers who were from Tarkwa, Kumasi, and Accra had earlier converged at Shiashie Wednesday morning to join two VIP buses and a minibus which were rented for their mission.

On arrival at the gated Trasacco Valley in the early hours of January 8, 2020, they demanded the security men allow them to besiege the residence of NAM1 but the security men refused, stating they were not given any prior information of the group’s visit.

Members of the group, in turn, asked the security men to call Nana Appiah Mensah for confirmation but before they could do that, GhanaWeb’s lenses captured the shocking moment when the customers forced their way through the front gates of the estate.

They made their way to the front gate of NAM1’s residence where they started calling out for him to refund their monies.

Shortly after they got to there, some unidentified macho men and police officers arrived to restore some sanity and calm the situation.

The aggrieved customers tried to force their way into the compound resulting in warning shots fired from the house, with the identity of the shooter not yet known.

Moments after, Head of Operations at the Accra Regional Police Command, ACP Kwesi Ofori led personnel from the Greater Accra Regional Police Command into the estate and called for the arrests of the group.

According to the ACP Kwesi Ofori, the customers had unlawfully besieged a private residence.

He explained that the customers will be held at the Accra Regional Police Command for the time being for investigations to commence.
