I did not lie my way into office - Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo has stated that he is confident that the work his government is doing attests to the fact that Ghanaians will be satisfied by the end of his term, and convinced he has not lied to them to get into office.

“I am confident that the work that my government is doing, on the day of account, December 7, 2020, comes, the people of Ghana will be satisfied that I have not lied to them to get into office,” he stressed.

Speaking to worshippers at the Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Wa in the Upper West Region, President Akufo-Addo pointed out that with limited resources, the people in the country had seen that his government, was distributing the national resources equitably.

”It cannot be that only the areas that voted for me will be the ones that are going to get development, my duty as president is to make sure that all parts of the country benefit from the work of my government, I am interested in providing infrastructure that people can see and not in the business of prophesying unprecedented projects that nobody gets to see,” the president assured.

President Akufo-Addo on a two-day tour of the Upper West Region, visited Wechiau, capital of the Wa West district where a durbar was held in his honour. He also visited the Daffiama-Bussie-Issa district, inspected ongoing project of the new district hospital at Issa and the high point of his visit to the region is the commissioning of the new Upper West Regional Hospital.

President Akufo-Addo cited instances of the Lawra-Nandom road which he promised to fix, and he claims work on that road is currently ongoing, a dam has been constructed under the one village one dam programme at Tom and plans are afoot to connect the community to the national grid, a project started by the Kufuor-led administration and abandoned over a decade ago.
