President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed strong confidence in the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, describing him as a capable leader who is ready to propel Ghana to greater heights.

Speaking on Hello FM in Kumasi on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, the President reaffirmed his trust in Vice President Dr Bawumia, asserting that he is the best person to carry forward the impressive achievements of the NPP.

"I have no doubts in my mind that between Bawumia and Mahama, Bawumia is the best person who can continue the good works of the NPP," he stated.

The president further accused the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, of failing to appreciate the strides made by his government.

“For John Mahama, he hasn’t appreciated anything the NPP has done. Free SHS, he always has something negative to say about it, and when it comes to Agenda 111, it is the same.

"He doesn’t appreciate the work the work this government has done,” he indicated.

Akufo-Addo warned that a return to Mahama’s leadership could undermine these initiatives, which he believes are vital to national development.

“The choice for me is straightforward, between the one who will continue the government’s flagship programmes and the one who will discontinue them,” he stated, reiterating his support for Bawumia’s candidacy as the key to Ghana’s future success.
