The Minority Leader of Parliament, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, has disclosed that he got married at an early age of 23, a year older than his wife, who was 22 at the time.
Speaking in a recent interview on Joy News on February 19, 2025, the Member of Parliament for Effutu shared details about his early marriage journey.
"My wedding pictures are those behind me. At age 23, I took that bold decision to go to the altar, and then we started a union there," he said.
In a separate interview on February 2, 2025, Afenyo-Markin reiterated his marriage timeline, stating, "I had my wedding at the age of 23; my wife was 22."
During the interview with Joy News on February 19, 2025, the Parliamentary leader, whose office is adorned with pictures, explained that he draws significant inspiration from the images around him.
His collection includes pictures of his family, founding members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), and Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.
