Renowned investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has vehemently denied claims that he’s taken a bribe to shelve a story.
He has challenged anyone with “credible evidence” to report to the police.
Anas and his firm, Tiger Eye PI, has come under a sustained attack from a section of the media while others are sourcing a purported former employee, accusing the undercover journalist of blackmailing his targets to enrich himself.
But in a statement issued by Tiger Eye PI, the investigative firm refuted the claims saying it has at all times conducted its work professionally and has never been compromised.
“In the past week, Tiger Eye PI has noted false news publications in the media about a purported former employee revealing alleged secrets. There is another false publication about a purported person exposing Tiger Eye PI and Abdul Malik Kweku Baako in respect of a totally fabricated story of “killing” a story.
“Tiger Eye PI would like to put on record that it has no employee by name Osei Agyeman, and neither it nor its CEO, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Abdul Malik Kweku Baako took money from any person to “kill” any story.”
It added: “These are textbook “fake news” stories created by persons whose avowed aim is simply to ruin the enviable repute of Tiger Eye PI, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and Abdul Malik Kweku Baako.
“Tiger Eye PI notes with regret, that the trend of false publications are being championed on OK FM by a presenter who styles himself as Kwame Nkrumah Tikesie.“Tiger Eye PI entreats all persons who claim they have incriminating evidence of wrongdoing on its part or that of its CEO to send such evidence to the police.
“Tiger Eye PI wishes to assure the public that it remains focused on its work and no amount of false publications and smear campaigning would derail it.”
