Impeachment will run NPP into more troubles – Ben Ephson

Ben Ephson Ben Ephson

Pollster Ben Ephson says the decision to suspend the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Paul Afoko from the party will run the party into more troubles.

He said the party’s chairman whom this severe sanction may not sit well with is bound to go to court and challenge the decision of the party against him.

“They’re presuming he’s guilty, that gives a biased posture. That will give them problems,” Ephson told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa Friday.

The Council of Elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has petitioned the National Disciplinary Committee of the party to ask the beleaguered Chairman, to step aside until the 2016 general elections is over.

Mr Afoko has also been served a copy of the letter.

Meanwhile, Pollster, Ben Ephson, had earlier predicted rightly that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) may begin the process of impeaching its national executives, Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyepong by March next year.

“I won’t be surprised if this thing continues, by the first three months of next year, Afoko/Kwabena Agyepong will be impeached. By March next year they will complete the signatures that are being collected and Afoko and Agyepong will be impeached.”

The NPP troubles are intensifying as a result of what is turning out to be mistrust among its national executives, with some alleging that the party’s National Chairman and General Secretary are clandestinely against the flag bearer’s victory in the upcoming 2016 elections, hence are working tirelessly to bring him down.
