Formerly known as Cantonments Road, the stretch is also widely recognized for its bustling nightlife, serving as a hub for popular bars, clubs, and restaurants such as Papaye, Frankies, Kona Grill and Lounge, among others.

Aside from the popular Oxford Street, notable landmarks in the Osu area include the Black Star Square, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, Osu Castle, Asomdwee Park, and Cantonments.

However, this only represents part of the story. The Chief Priest of Osu Nadu/Klottey, Wor-Lumor Nuumo Noi Sekanku Kpenuku II, made surprising revelations about additional areas in Accra that fall under Osu during GhanaWeb's People and Places programme.

According to him, Ghana's Kotoka International Airport is actually located on Osu land. He refuted the long-standing belief that the airport was built on land owned by the La people of the Ga tribe.

He further listed the University of Ghana, the road connecting to Haatso, the Achimota School area, and the Jubilee House as key landmarks situated within Osu.

“We have the airport in Osu, the Jubilee House is in Osu, the Lands Commission is in Osu. All the ministries that govern Ghana are in Osu. The first university is in Osu, and the Cambridge College, which we now call Achimota School, is in Osu,” he stated on GhanaWeb TV.
