The chief of Enyan Denkyira in the Central Region, Oseadeaye Ayeboafo Attuafful, has said that the Late MP for Ejisu and Deputy Minister of Finance, John Ampontuah Kumah was a political figure whose kind was not common.

According to him, irrespective of people's status, the late lawmaker availed himself for them to get access to him. He said John's kind of leadership is something that must be emulated by most of his fellow politicians.

Describing him as humble, hard-working and someone with a simple life, the chief said it was time most of our politicians copied his attitude and stopped being hostile to people.

He said, even though the Late John Kumah lived up to just 46 years, his legacies will forever live on. The chief is however of the firm conviction that life is not necessarily about the number of years, but how you impact others especially when you get the chance to serve.

"John was someone who had a good rapport with everyone. Irrespective of who you are, he would accept you in good faith whenever you visit his office. It is for this reason we are urging all the other politicians to emulate him. People entering your office or getting closer to you do not necessarily mean they want something from you. Sometimes, your words of encouragement and direction alone would keep them going, and that was the true identity of the Late John Kumah". He said.

Going into 2024 election, the chief took the opportunity to advise politicians and others to be guarded by the choice of words they use. He said it was time these politicians desisted from using words that could plunge the nation into a sorry state.

He said this in an interview with GhanaWeb during the final funeral rite of the Late John Kumah at Onwe in the Ejisu Municipality of the Ashanti region on Saturday.
