The Member of Parliament for Effiduase Asokore and a pioneer in NPP youth advocacy, Hon. Dr. Ayew Afriye, has encouraged the youth of the party to remain positive about its electoral prospects as we enter the New Year 2025.
Dr. Ayew Afriye believes the NPP will bounce back stronger, urging the party's youth not to despair despite the December 7, 2024, electoral defeat.
In a heartfelt message to the party's teeming youth, the outspoken legislator noted that although last year's electoral defeat came as a shock, it is time for the party—especially the youth wing—to shake the dust off their feet and approach the coming years with renewed hope and commitment.
Concerns have been raised about how the NPP will revive its base following the embarrassing defeat to its bitter political rival, the NDC, in the December 7 polls.
However, the Effiduase Asokore Member of Parliament emphasized that 2025 should mark a new dawn for the party. He called on all groups within the party to gird their loins for the battle ahead.
Noted for his leading role in sustaining the party's grassroots advocacy as the founding leader of the once-vibrant Alliance For Accountable Governance (AFAG), Dr. Ayew Afriye declared his readiness to support the party's grassroots resurgence, even as "we prepare to offer constructive and credible opposition to the incoming NDC administration."
"This is not the time for us to lose hope. The NPP is a party with a strong foundation. We have been here before as a party and came out even stronger. We need to stay focused as we begin the healing process, identify the cause of our failure, and rebuild this party," he said.
