Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has stressed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is in no position to give peace talks or even advise his opponent about the need for peace; not when he has overseen violent acts under his administration and has done very little about it.
His comments come on the back of President Nana Akufo-Addo’s assurance that peace will prevail above any other political factor because the nation’s peace and prosperity is more important than the ambitions of political figures.
During a lecture at the 20th Anniversary of the Tertiary Students Confederacy of the New Patriotic Party (TESCON) at the Ho Technical University, President Akufo-Addo said,
“I want to assure him that there will be no strife, there will be no conflict after the December 7 general elections.”
Sammy Gyamfi, touching on the comments expressed shock at the words of the statesman whom he says has overlooked several violent acts under his watch.
According to him, President Akufo-Addo’s previous ‘All die be die’ comments among others, gives him out as far as his complicity on issues of violence is concerned.
“Since when has Akufo-Addo evinced any semblance of a peaceful disposition? This is a man who is famed for being full of tension and violence both as an opposition leader and President. And yet today he says what?” he wrote, in a statement.
Does President Akufo-Addo think, that Ghanaians have so soon forgotten about his infamous 2008 “All die be die" hate speech or his inciteful “Atiwa koraa y3 kyer3 omo biribi kakra” speech?” he added.
Sammy Gyamfi further stated that the party’s flagbearer, John Mahama is in no position to be advised by someone who himself has a track-record of condoning violence.
“Never! The NDC will not take moral lessons from the man who supervised the state-sponsored brutalization of innocent Ghanaians at Ayawaso West Wuogon and has till date refused to bring the culprits to book.”

Folks, wonders they say shall never end.
Was President Akufo-Addo trying to lecture President Mahama on peace????
Since when has Akufo-Addo evinced any semblance of a peaceful disposition? This is a man who is famed for being full of tension and violence both as an opposition leader and President. And yet today he says what?
Does President Akufo-Addo think, that Ghanaians have so soon forgotten about his infamous 2008 “All die be die" hate speech or his inciteful “Atiwa koraa y3 kyer3 omo biribi kakra” speech?
Well, President Akufo-Addo should be told, that the peaceful and humble John Mahama will not take peace lessons from a man who personifies violence. He will not take peace lessons from the founder and commander-in-Chief of the NPP’s Delta Forces, Invisible forces, Bolgatanga Bulldogs, Kandahar Boys and Volta Crocodiles who have unleashed mayhem on our courts, the police and innocent Ghanaians since 2008.
Never! The NDC will not take moral lessons from the man who supervised the state-sponsored brutalization of innocent Ghanaians at Ayawaso West Wuogon and has till date refused to bring the culprits to book. We will never take moral lessons from a brothel.
