“Now we cannot find Nana Appiah Mensah to even talk to him, he has gone into hiding and is only talking on twitter. He should come out and talk to us on how he is going to refund our money to us,” were the words of Francis Owusu, Public Relation Officer of the Aggrieved Menzgold Customers while speaking on Accra FM.

The customers are frustrated following the failure of the gold dealership firm to pay back their invested capital. Although Menzgold promised to pay them 15 per cent of their locked-up investment principals several months ago, the company is yet to fulfill that promise.

On Tuesday, hundreds who have formed a group called the Coalition of Aggrieved Customers of Menzgold, hit the streets to register their displeasure about the development.

They say the Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah, affectionately called NAM1 has turned deaf ear to their plight, stressing they will not rest until they are paid in full.

“Today we have people from the Western, Central, Brong Ahafo, Ashanti and other parts of the country joining in this demonstration. I want to state that until we get our money, we will continue to act,” said Denis Brown Atisu, organiser of the demonstration.

“I personally invested GH¢100,000 in the last six months and I cannot sit idly for my money to go down the drain. We want the Bank of Ghana, the President, Parliament and all who matter to act for us because we are only investors and so if the entity we entrusted our investment is not operating legally, it is not enough to just shut its operations without helping us to retrieve our money,” he added.
