Former President, Jerry John Rawlings has asked NDC delegates voting for candidates in the ongoing NDC parliamentary primaries not be influenced by money in their choices.

For him, this remains the “obvious logical thing” for delegates to watch in this internal primaries for a clean polls.

He made the point when he visited the voting centre at Klottey Korle constituency where his daughter, Zanetor Rawlings is facing off in that contest with two others from the party.

The largest opposition National Democratic Congress today August 24, 2019, is electing parliamentary candidates for the 2020 general elections.

A total of 524 candidates are up for election in 157 constituencies out of 275.

Thirty-nine persons already have one of their legs in Parliament as they are going unopposed. Delegates in 71 constituencies will later to go to the polls to elect their candidates.



The party has suspended elections in Yilo Krobo, Fanteakwa North Constituencies in the Eastern Region, Mpohor, Ellembele in the Western North Region, and Asawase in the Ashanti Region.

A statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, on Tuesday, August 20, did not indicate when the exercise would be held in the affected areas.
