Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akomea has declared that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will watch in disbelief the victory of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo after December 7th.
According to him, this year’s elections will be about real issues and not the infrastructure development the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is touting to be their achievement on which Ghanaians will look at to vote for them.
He said though there is some level of infrastructure, the real issues are that joblessness is on the ascendency and young people between the ages of 18 to 25 years are in a state of hopelessness.
“There is no systematic program by government to get this young people jobs and so the over 1,000 graduates coming out of the various universities will be looking for change”, he stated.
Nana Akomea indicated that even those that have jobs have cause to worry, given that the erosion of the currency over the last 8 years has affected their income.
He observed that people will be looking at the rate at which school fees, transport fares, petrol prices and food prices have been increased impose severe hardship on Ghanaians.
“Because the price of everything goes up when the dollar goes up and the dollar has gone up by 250 percent in the last 8 years and it has reflected in the cost of living”, the Communication Director averred.
Nana Akomea estimated that, policies by the Mahama-led administration has squeezed the welfare of Ghanaians, saying that is what will impact on the voting.
