A political scientist, Dr. Amoako Baah has advised that the Dankwa-Busia-Dombo tradition looks beyond Afoko/Agyepong in its quest to broker peace within the party.

He’s insisting that until the party unmask certain leaders who he claims are hiding behind the beleaguered executives (Afoko/Agyepong), and fueling tensions in the NPP, it will be difficult to find a lasting solution to the internal bickering in the party.

“Some leaders are behind this confusion; there are people with different interest. If you talk to Afoko/Agyepong and the others are still aggrieved, you have still not solved the issues,”

The NPP has for some months now been the center of controversy among all the political parties in the country as a result of what is turning out to be mistrust among its national executives.

Speaking on Kasapa FM, Dr Amoako Baah intimated that peace within the NPP can be realized if the party will avoid the deep seated emotions and tribalism which he said has stalled the progress of the party.

Meanwhile, Prof. Kwame Okoampah Ahoofe, also commenting on the same show contended that the NPP is seeing more troubles because former President Kufuor did not do enough to promote the candidature of Akufo-Addo in 2008, when the latter contested.

He said if Kufuor had thrown his weight behind Akufo-Addo, the NPP wouldn’t have been overwhelmed by this deeply rooted troubles.
