A former Deputy Minister for Communication, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has accused the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) of being behind the incessant attacks on ace investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas following his latest work, “Number 12”.

According to him, the ruling party feels uncomfortable with portions of the Number 12 video that cast the presidency in a bad light hence the attempt to discredit the good works of Anas, lead investigator of the Tiger Eye PI team.

Disgraced football chief, Kwesi Nyatankyi, was heard bragging to supposed investors in the said video that ,he could secure contracts for them by offering bribes to President Akufo Addo, vice president Bawumia and other ministers.

However, speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Thursday, Kwakye Ofosu said, the NPP has been dazed by Nyantaki’s admission and therefore resorting to crude methods to discredit the work of Anas.

He argued that the attacks being instigated against Anas by Ken Agyapong are a well-orchestrated moves by the NPP to run down the multiple award-winning journalists.

The former NDC deputy minister said the fact some presidential staffers are attacking Anas on social media gives credence to his assertion.

Kwakye Ofosu, however, added that the actions by these appointees taint the NPP brand since a section of the public could infer that the government is not committed to the fight against corruption.
