Customers of Menzgold have served notice their vote in December will be informed by government’s attitude towards their locked up funds with the CEO of the company Nana Appiah Mensah popularly known as NAM 1.

According to the customers, government has not shown enough commitment in the efforts in retrieving their monies.

It comes in the wake of claims by NAM 1 that he has paid over GHC9 million cedis to the aggrieved customers of the defunct company.

Speaking to Francis Abban on the Morning Starr Tuesday, Spokesperson for the aggrieved customers Godfrey Ankomah said the state appears lackadaisical with the court case involving the businessman.

“We can’t fight NAM 1 on our own and we are not seeing government showing commitment. The prosecution is dragging its feet. This case, nothing is happening in court. The judge is rather putting pressure on the prosecutor, we see some flip flop somewhere,” he said.

He noted: ” We are not asking government to pay us our money, we didn’t invest in government. We are saying we are citizens and if something happens the state must care. This is a matter involving over 10,000 people and we believe there is more the state could do.

“Every serious Menzgold customer, their vote will be dependent on what happens in Menzgold and their money. We will ask ourselves is the government doing enough? Could more have been done? that is a logical position and nobody can take that away from us”.

The customers are also demanding the removal of the Security and Exchange Commission boss for not doing enough to retrieve their monies.
