Police HQ told me if Anas has taken my land, I should leave it to God - TseAdo landowner alleges

Alleged Anas Aremeyaw Anas Alleged Anas Aremeyaw Anas

The woman who holds the land title to a piece of land that was taken over by undercover journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, has said senior Police officials at the Ghana Police Headquarters told her to “leave the matter to God” when she reported news of the land grab to them.

In an interview on Net2 TV, Mama Victoria, a business woman said Anas’ boys on the said land told her they were under instruction to beat and strip her naked when she comes to the land, but they were only warning her out of respect. The alleged Anas landguards said they didn’t want to get to the point where they would have to carry out their instructions because she was a woman.

According to her, when she reported the matter to the property fraud unit of the Ghana Police Headquarters, she was told if it is Anas who has allegedly taken her land ‘illegally’, the best is “to leave it to God” because they have received superior calls to make it a “foolish case”.

According to her, someone advised her to go and meet Kwaku Baako with her genuine land documents to prove her case to him so that he can talk to “his boy” Anas to stop breaking down her buildings and to leave her alone to develop her land.

She said Kwaku Baako ordered to have a look at her documents and asked that it should be sent to him. She said she sent the land documents to him as requested. For three months, attempt to get it back failed. She claimed she was later told by Kwaku Baako that Anas is “a big boy and can handle his own matters”.
