The Queen Mother of Adjamesu, who also serves as the Adontehemaa of the Essumeja Traditional Council in the Ashanti Region, Nana Kwakyewaa Obimpeh, narrowly escaped an attempted murder.
The Sanfi Police, who confirmed the attempted assassination of the traditional ruler, reported that some unknown persons fired indiscriminately into her residence in the early hours of Monday, June 24, 2024.
Mr. Prince Owusu, the Assemblyman for the Adjamesu Electoral Area, accompanied by a distraught Queen Mother, lodged an official complaint with the police. He reported that around 12:30 am, an unknown assailant shot into her bedroom through the back window while she was asleep.
The loud sound of the gunshot woke her, and she discovered pellets on her bed.
She raised an alarm; however, the perpetrator had already fled the scene.
Upon receiving the complaint, the police dispatched investigators to the location, where they found pellets on the complainant's bed.
The police are appealing to the public for information that could lead to the arrest of the perpetrators.
