The Ministry of Roads and Highways has made plans to terminate contracts for the rehabilitation of six road networks abandoned mid-way by contractors across the country.

The road networks, according to the Deputy Minister are supposed to undergo various levels of rehabilitation but have been left unattended to by contractors, hence, the need to terminate those contracts.

“The reason why we have many contractors abandoning site is because either those projects are not budgeted for or funds are not forth coming to pay the contractors,” the Deputy Minister said.

He added that the six road networks have been billed for re-scoping and will be reawarded so as to realign the contracts to match available funds.
