Truck accident claims life of 61-year-old man at Aburi

A 61-year-old George Amoah has died in a horrific accident at Aburi in the Eastern Region.

The incident occurred around 12:00 pm on Wednesday when a tipper truck, driven by 30-year-old Michael Asinyo, veered off the road and overturned.

The truck, with registration number GT 3678-18, was loaded with quarry dust and had two passengers on board.

The accident took place near the Aburi Total filling station as the truck descended a hill towards a newly developed community. Asinyo reportedly lost control of the steering wheel, causing the truck to fall on its passenger side.

George Amoah sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.

His body has been transported to the Tetteh Quarshie Memorial Hospital Mortuary in Mampong Akwapim for preservation and autopsy.

The driver, Michael Asinyo, has been detained to assist with the investigation.
