Two persons have been arrested by the Ejisu Police for stealing a 2021 Toyota Highlander belonging to a Canadian-based Ghanaian.

Their accomplices, according to the Ejisu Police, are currently on the run and are being sought after by the police.

According to the facts of the case presented by police investigators who confirmed the incident to MyNewsGh.com, the complainant from Aprade reported that in January 2024, he entrusted his unregistered Toyota Highlander, blue in color and valued at GHC 650,000.00, which he brought from Canada, to car dealers by the names of 'SIR-MAN' and Yaw Ampong to facilitate the sale of the said vehicle for him.

The complainant, who was not in the country at the time, returned to Ghana in March 2024 and, after all efforts to trace the car dealers and his car proved abortive, reported the matter to the Ejisu Police.

Police investigations led to the arrest of suspects Yaw Ampong and Charles Opoku, and through them, the vehicle was retrieved for investigation.

The two suspects have been put before the Ejisu Magistrate Court and remanded to assist investigations.

The retrieved unregistered Toyota Highlander has been impounded at the Ejisu Divisional Headquarters.

Meanwhile, the police indicate they are tracing to arrest the remaining suspects at large.
