UG SRC aspirants cautioned to stop postings until they become candidates

Director of Public at the University of Ghana, Mrs. Stella Amoa has urged aspirants for various SRC positions for the 2020/2021 academic year to discontinue the posting of banners on campus until they successfully pass through vetting and become candidates.

Speaking on Campus Exclusive, she said that;

“We also noted that those who are aspiring have engaged in such acts, though they are not already candidates. We call on them to desist from postings banners until they go through the formalities to become candidates for election. This is because the ban has not been lifted until they get the green light from the Dean of students’ affairs.”

She further called on individuals involved in the act as well as church denominations on campus to as a matter of necessity, remove their posters from unauthorized places.

“We also call on them to try to remove those posters and churches are also not exempted.” she urged

The interview with the Public Affairs’ Director follows the peeling off of banners and posters at unauthorized places by security personnel of the university.

In this regard, Mrs. Amoa further urged the public to cooperate with the security personnel as they undertake this exercise.

Mrs. Stella Amoa was quick to add that her office is committed to running advertisements for aspirants should they gain approval as candidates from the vetting committee and the office of the Dean of Student Affairs.
